Are you often caught at 4pm with nothing but frozen meat and no plan for dinner? We're all busy and meal planning feels daunting. Let's make some freezer meals together so if you do forget, all you have to do is heat up a prepped meal and serve! When I was a young mom, I belonged to a mom's group through my church called MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) and we would get together and make these meals in the church kitchen. It was so fun. I have such warm memories of those times. I want to make some with you!
Not only will cooking all at once save you time but it will also save you money! If you're like me you have rotting produce somewhere in the fridge. This type of cooking will use every ingredient and nothing will go to waste!
The following are the meals and grocery lists that you will need. I'd like to plan to do this stream this Friday! (Exact time to be announced!) I'm making these meals for a family of 5 but if you have less just divide the meals into two to three bags each and get many more meals!
You will need a box of Ziplock gallon-sized freezer bags, two to three tins for casserole (depending on how large or small you want to make them), plastic wrap, a total of 3 lbs ground beef, 1 lb ground pork (can substitute with beef you want), 3lbs chicken breast and several servings of rice (so make sure you have a good sized bag). Ground Beef Meals
Tacos
1 lb ground beef
1 package taco seasoning
1 onion
salsa of choice or tomato paste
tortillas of your choice
Taco toppings (lettuce, sour cream, salsa, cheese)
Baked Ziti casserole
1lb ground beef (or italian sausage)
1lb of pasta of your choice
Ricotta cheese
16 oz bag of shredded mozzerella
Italian seasonings
tomato paste
jar of spaghetti sauce (your choice)
4 cloves garlic
fresh basil
1 onion
parsley (fresh)
frozen garlic bread
(tins for freezing-get the size that you prefer. If smaller, you can make two to three) I like to make these smaller because my family doesn't normally have more than one serving each and this recipe makes a lot
Pork
Spaghetti and Meatballs
1lb ground pork
1/2 c parmesan cheese
1/2 c breadcrumbs
small amount of milk (around 2 to 3 T)
one egg
celery leaf (fresh and chopped)
Garlic salt
Black pepper
2 large green or red peppers
garlic
red pepper flakes
1 large can Hunt's tomato sauce
Better than chicken boulion (2 T)
1/2 cup chicken broth
Chicken Meals
Kung Pao Chicken
1lb chicken breast sliced bite size (can use ground chicken too)
1/2 cup of cilantro
salted peanuts
1T hoisin sauce
1T black bean and garlic sauce
1T red wine vinegar
1T rice wine vinegar
1t sugar
4 T soy sauce
green onions
garlic
serve over rice
Chicken Burrito Bowls
1lb sliced chicken
1 can of corn
taco seasoning
salsa of choice
1/2 cup cilantro
1 sliced red pepper
1 sleced onion
can of black or pinto beans
garlic salt/or adobo seasoning
1/2 c chicken broth
serve over rice rice (mexican if you wish or white or brown as desired)
Toppings
lettuce
sour cream
corn chips
avacado
cilantro
hot sauce/taco sauce
Angel Chicken
Frozen or fresh chicken breasts (3-4)
1/4 stick butter
1/2 cup white wine
1 package ranch dressing dry mix
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 8oz package cream cheese
Mushrooms (optional) canned or fresh
black pepper
serve over angle hair noodles or noodles of your choice
